It will be a lighting spectacular that they will never forget. Working closely with Lighting Director Jason Moser, DJ Tim Coy is currently plotting out the architecture for the event. This is sure to blow the socks off of the new USC students that are fresh out of their local high schools.

We recently got to Hang Out with Malibu Rum and Absolut Vodka for their annual Launch Party! Each year Southern Wine & Spirits comes together with Toes on the Nose Surf Company and DJ Tim Coy to Premier their latest flavors and New Drink Concoctions. This year it was all about the New Malibu BLACK, Absolut Orient Apple & Malibu’s New Cranberry Cherry!

In perfect fashion, drinks were flowing, the sun was shining and life was good in Newport Beach, CA. This was our 6th year working with Malibu Rum, Absolut Vodka and Toes on the Nose. Teams of employees come from all over the southland to compete in an Athletic Competion like no other! Guests are welcomed with the signature drink to get the creative juices flowing and each team chooses a Captain. It’s a very festive event that requires the teams to come up with their own look and attire. So, there’s never any shortage of surprises.

DJ Tim Coy works closely with the event coordinators from Toes on the Nose surf company to organize the events of the day. “This is one of my favorite events of the year! Everyone comes out in outrageous costumes and has a ball!” Newport Dunes in Newport Beach is a phenomenal location for indoor and outdoor events. They can provide endless outdoor activities including stand-up paddle boarding, outrigger canoes, beach volleyball, inflatable floating slides and that’s not to mention all of the boating activities!

Custom Pattern Projection

Our Lighting Department is growing by leaps and bounds with Director of Lighting & Audio, Jason Moser at the helm. Creativity abounds and there are so many options to choose from now! Uplighting is one of the most popular lighting effects right now but custom pattern projections are on the rise. We’ve been experimenting with jungle patterns and floral designs projected on the walls and ceilings and the results are phenomenal!

This weekend we were at the Newport Beach Marriott for the Wedding of David McDonnell and Joyce Lau. Lighting Tech, Jason Moser, put together a custom design that included deep blue LED uplighting with accents of purple strategically placed. The weather was a little overcast but that just made the lighting pop!

It was the perfect day at the perfect location for an Exclusive Bridal Show at Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca. The event was held on Sunday January 23rd and all of the brides that got engaged over the holidays set out to build the wedding of their dreams in California. Winds gently blew over the seaside cliffs as the premier wedding vendors of the southland began constructing the showroom that would highlight the day.

Senior Lighting Designer, Jason Moser arrived early to set the stage for an inspiring lighting display that had energetic young brides swarming for a look. “We put together both white and color custom monograms as well as LED Up-Lights for the show which really gave brides a lot of options that easily fit their budget.,” remarked Jason. Minister, Wedding Officiant & Ceremony Coordinator Loreen Saldana was on-hand to help couples plan their vows and make sense of the complexities involved in a ceremony. It really gave brides focus and relieved a lot of stress that comes with planning a wedding. Keith Morgan, a long-time insider in the Hollywood entertainment industry, was instrumental in planning and designing customized entertainment packages for clients that wanted something above the status quo! Booking Musicians for the the wedding and a DJ for the receptions was no problem!

Surf City and the World Famous Huntington Beach has long been the destination for events in Southern California. After catering to the needs of all that frequent the Hyatt it was time to honor the employees that make it all happen! The HB Hyatt Regency invited Tim Coy to entertain the crowd at the employee anniversary party. DJ Tim Coy has performed at many of the Hyatt Employee events over the last 10 years. The Hyatt is very gracious and showers their employees with praise for a job well done.

This Weekend we were at the Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, California for a Romantic Winter Wedding!

In California, anytime of year can be the perfect time for a wedding. It’s not uncommon to have it be 32 degrees and raining on Friday only to have it turn out to be 75 degrees and sunny on Saturday!

Well, that’s just about what happened here. Just a week or 2 ago, we were in the middle of the biggest down-pour of rain that California has seen in decades. People on the east coast and mid-west are shoveling their driveways while dealing with a blizzard. Yet, in the middle of January 2011, we quickly bounced back to our golden coast weather with blue skies and tropical backgrounds.

Lisa Craig and David Quizon chose the Old Ranch Country Club for their wedding ceremony and reception. Loreen Saldana was the Wedding Officiant. She always knows just how to word things to make them flow eloquently from beginning to end. After a warm wedding with the rolling hills of the country club as the back-drop, the bride and groom were able to sneak away for a few quick pictures. The family and guests enjoyed gourmet treats from the renowned chef’s at Old Ranch in the reception hall. As the reception began, DJ Tim Coy worked closely with the staff and Amy, the event coordinator, to insure a smooth and seamless event. It’s that time of year! After thousands of marriage proposals on Christmas and New Year’s Eve, brides and grooms are out in force booking their weddings and receptions for 2011. We’re meeting with new clients and we’re booking event after event right now. It’s fantastic!

There really is a shortage of quality entertainment providers in the wedding industry. So many vendors don’t have the experience and critical knowledge that is required to make a wedding successful. Because of that, the search is on for those few wedding vendors that really do have what it takes. And, with the home purchase prices and interest rates at an all-time low, couples can really afford to have an elegant wedding and move right into their dream house.

We’re really proud to be a small part of this fairytale!

A Beautiful Bride

January in California is a beautiful time of year to have a wedding. The day was clear and crisp with just a bit of cold weather to add to the season. DJ Tim Coy and Lighting Technician Jason Moser put on a great event complete with custom gobo to highlight the dance floor.

DJ Novazzi (aka Jonah Lavitt) let loose at the OC Fair Block Party for New Year’s Eve 2010! DJ Novazzi and DJ Tim Coy have been working together for about 2 years and have achieved smashing success!

This was the 1st year that the Orange County Fair and Event Center actually hosted the New Year’s Eve Party. They had everything that you could want from a New Year’s Eve Party. DJ Novazzi premiered at the Baja Blues Lounge while other DJs cranked it at The Hangar and the Millenium Barn. Tribute bands sang familiar songs from the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s and, believe it or not, they even had a New Year’s Eve Demolition Derby! Completely Insane!

The Demolition Derby went on right behind DJ Novazzi as he cranked out the latest in hip-hop and techno trance for the rabid fans. It was an alcohol-fueled night that left contestants and party-goers stunned with all of the action.

Many guests commented that they couldn’t believe how much entertainment the OC Fair and Events Center had provided for the customers on New Year’s Eve 2010. Dan Gaines, the Entertainment Director for the OC Fair and Events Center, worked for months preparing and booking the finest DJs, Bands and Entertainment to insure that this would be the best New Year’s Eve Party in Southern California.

Doug Lofstrom, VP of Events for the OC Fair, helped put together a Preview of the New Year’s Eve Block Party complete with some of the hottest Gourmet Food Trucks seen on the Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race. ( http://www.foodnetwork.com/the-great-food-truck-race/index.html )

Amazing food trucks like The Burnt Truck and Chomp Chomp were there serving up delectable treats. DJ Tim Coy worked the 1′s  & 2′s for the fans as they stuffed their bellies with the good eats from these infamous trucks. DJ Tim Coy has worked with the OC Fair and Events Center for over 7 years now providing DJs, MCs, Show Hosts, and a number of other entertainment services.

You won’t believe the colors and patterns that we achieved with LED Up Lights and Custom Martin Scanners. We Set the Night on Fire right from the start. Unique amber LED lights were strategically placed throughout the exquisitely decorated Union Station in Los Angeles, California!

Flowers and Decor were provided by Neel Advani, Owner of Capri Flowers and Gifts ( http://www.capriflowersorange.com/ ). Neel was one of the nicest vendors I’ve ever worked with and he knew what it took to make this an event like no other! He custom designed each Center Piece to his World-Class standards and even included blue LEDs lights that were submerged in water to match our LED Up Lighting around the walls.

The wedding date is set for 12/31/10 for the ever-beautiful Taryn Crowe and her fiance!

DJ Tim Coy and Pacific-Events.com will be providing the DJ & MC services as well as an Executive Lighting Package that includes LED up-lights that will wash the entire venue in a cascade of color. It will be an elegant evening that will explode with color as we activate our Extreme DJ Lighting Package complete with gobo and scanners that illuminate the walls and ceilings of Union Station with effects that rival any rave in Southern California.

This will be a night to remember and we’re making the dreams of a beautiful bride come true again!

In December 2010, Ocean Media ( http://www.oceanmediainc.com/ ) chose The Balboa Bay Club ( http://www.balboabayclub.com/ ) as their destination for a Holiday Bash! Ocean Media asked DJ Tim Coy to provide the entertainment for the evening. This was the second year in a row that DJ Tim Coy has worked with Ocean Media. With million dollar yachts floating effortlessly across the bay and a brisk California Winter breeze softly blowing in the background, it was a picture-perfect night. Christmas was in the air and it was time to celebrate!

Only the most well-to-do have memberships at The Balboa Bay Club in lower Newport Beach. ”I met the author of Kraemer vs Kraemer tonight! He walked up with his date during the party and asked when the dancing would start. The funny thing was that he wasn’t a guest at the party. He was a member at the club. He actually ‘crashed the party’ later and got in a few dance moves before cutting out! What a cool guy!”, Tim remembers.

Some of us are lucky enough to be there frequently and enjoy the Newport Bay area. The Club has gourmet food that is like no other. Enrique is one of our favorite Captains there. He and his staff are always at your beck and call with a friendly smile. The cuisine is scrumptious from the unique salad blends to the always enchanting entrees! It doesn’t matter what your tastes are, everything is made to satisfy even the most critical.

Mike Robertson, Chairman & CEO of Ocean Media, knows what it takes to run a thriving media buying agency. He also knows how to keep his employees happy by putting on a party to remember. One key to success is to keep the speeches short and sweet. Mike let the party speak for itself. Let’s face it, people hear enough about work at work, right? When you’re at the party it’s time to have fun! Mr. Robertson graciously thanked those that helped the company reach the acclaim that it had and paid respect to everyone for their hard work. After that, they were treated to the world-class food that The Balboa Bay Club is known for.

As the sun went down, the party started with the latest in Top 40 and a mix of Old School and 80′s that had the dance floor pumping all night! Floods of music requests came in from the guests and club members but that’s one thing that DJ Tim Coy likes. “It really helps me get a feel for what the mood of the night is. You can have the same group of people 2 nights in a row and their musical tastes can be completely different from night to night. Some DJs don’t like taking requests but I love the input!” says Tim Coy after smashing a dance set late in the evening.

As the night winded down, guests merrily stumbled to their rooms and we took a few moments to appreciate those million dollar yachts one last time; The Don Juan, The Shogun, The Bad Habit. Many of them are owned by casino executives from Vegas, Orange County socialites and tech industry moguls. Some are just trophies that never sea the open ocean but all of them are beautiful! DJing in Southern California…It’s a Wonderful Life!
